We are pleased to announce significant updates to our website, designed to enhance your experience exploring the våbentype stamps. Our primary goal is to consolidate existing knowledge about våbentype editions, making it easily accessible in one place. This platform largely features articles previously published in various journals and formerly hosted on the våbentype study group’s website.
This updated site differs from its predecessor. It does not include specific entries on matrix types, cliché errors, and plating details. Instead, we direct users to TOFDATA, which is available for download from the Tofarvedes website. Please note that TOFDATA is an older DOS program and may require some effort to run. However, many users report success, including on Windows 11.
Additionally, we want to remind users that the Post Museum’s scans of våbentype sheets and other materials can be found on the KPK’s open website. Look for them under the ‘Gruppen for våbentypen’ section. These resources provide valuable visual references for studying the våbentype stamps and their variations.
Given that the våbentype study group is no longer active, we encourage discussions and information exchanges to take place within the Facebook group ‘Filateli med svaghed for våbentypen 1882/84’. This group provides a forum for enthusiasts to connect, share insights, and learn from one another. We hope these changes enhance your research and enjoyment of the våbentype series.
